Ads ‘position would not influence the conversion rate? by jbenomore

Hi

According to Chief Economist at Google, Hal Varian, himself, ads’ position would not influence that much your conversion rate.  Concretely, where 11 ads are shown on a page result, the conversion rate varies by less than 5% across positions.

This is an astonishing news, especially because it is coming from Google itself… However it would be interesting to run some test ourselves…

Hi

Bing can let you check which websites are associated with your IP address.

On the home page, just enter our IP address as following :  “ip:212.53.89.138” ,

However it seems to work only for the US, since the test I run for ITJB.co.uk, gives irrelevant results.

Hi

Bing will power Yahoo search, but concretely what’s going to change?

In terms of organic search, yahoo should start using Bing at the begining of 2010 but in terms of PPC it might take longer as the 2 giants use different API.

More details about this deal in this article written by Danny Sulllivan http://searchengineland.com/microsoft-yahoo-search-deal-simplified-23299
