This article by Josh Dreller gives a good overview of the complexity of testing, mainly for 2 reasons. Firstly, there is such a big quantity of variations for a given keyword.  Second of all, tests much achieve at least 100 conversions to achieve statistical significance and be confident in how well a variation is performing.

As a result Testing may be very time consuming.

However, in such a competitive industry we should use tests to enhance our SEO and PPC.
